Speleological flashlight
Kaderka, Jakub ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Levek, Vladimír (advisor)
Existing speleology headlamps are discussed and several improvement are proposed in the beginning of the thesis. A switched hystersis buck LED driver is designed. Part selection process is mentioned with focus on driver efficiency. Li-Ion charger and battery protection circuit is discussed. Final part of the thesis describes construction of working lamp prototype and measurements of its characteristics. The LED driver reaches efficiency of 96 %, the maximal luminous flux is 869 lumens. The automated light regulation based on measuring amount of reflected light was found to be inefficient in a muddy underground.
Cave maps and their symbols in publications Speleo and Speleofórum
Benešová, Karolína ; Kratochvíl, Radim (referee) ; Weigel, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to tackle the problem of map symbols used in maps of caves, cave systems and similar naturally created landforms. Two publications dealing with this issue were analyzed, namely the anthology Speleo and Speleofórum. For the Speleo magazine, it was 74 issues published between 1990–2019 and for the Speleofórum magazine 23 issues published in the years 1989–2019. In total, more than 1,000 maps and their map symbols were recorded. I total it was 264 and 340 symbols for the Speleo anthology and the Speleoforum respectively. Subsequently, the symbols were sorted into categories and digitalized. Only a fraction of the maps included a legend, and therefore the meaning of used symbols had to be identified in the text the respective article. Maps with key have become more common in the last five years, thanks to more affordable digital technologies such as Therion, which automatically provides a unified legend.

Bílá voda Creek swirling through the Bludiště, or, what happens when the Panský rybník Pond becomes discharged
Lejska, S. ; Kuda, František ; Kněžínek, K. ; Divíšek, Jan
At the end of the year 2015, the Panský pond on Bílá voda Creek was let out and this event provided us to observe the flow of the Bílá voda Creek through the Amatérská Cave. The Bílá voda Creek entered dry river bed in the cave and we recorded new data regarding conjunction of Bílá voda Creek and Sloup Creek in Bludiště (Labyrinth) M. Šlechty. This event enabled us to definitely confirm the assumption that Bílá voda Creek commonly enters Bludiště M. Šlechty in area of Jádro (Core), if not above.
